Professional Associate AIC Sculpture and Art Objects Conservation & Restoration in Salt Lake City Utah
In May, 2021, I had the exciting opportunity to help the wonderful team from MuseumsPartner with the careful examination of objects before installation of the new exhibit "Egypt: The Time of Pharaohs" at the Natural History Museum of Utah. You can visit the exhibit (more than 350 artifacts) until January 2, 2022. The exhibition is a joint venture between and produced by MuseumsPartner in Austria, the University of Aberdeen Museum, the Roemer und Pelizaeus Museum in Hildesheim, Lokschuppen Exhibition Center in Rosenheim and the Gustav Lübcke Museum in Hamm. Danke schön to everyone involved! Here is a link to get a quick glimpse: nhmu.utah.edu/museum/exhibits/egypt-pharaohs

In case you missed the presentation in March 2021 about the conservation treatment I performed on the Urbanek Map for the Moab Museum, here is a link to a short story about it by the Moab Musuem: moabmuseum.org/conserving-a-twenty-year-labor-of-love-the-moab-museums-homage-to-urbanek/ If you'd like to watch the interview we did through Zoom, here it is: www.facebook.com/moabmuseum/videos/491106298585906/ Please enjoy!
COVID-19 has forced me to spend more time on my computer, so it is a good opportunity to update my website. Contact information has been updated and all text is now in English. There are more images of work completed in the past five years in addition to work from my time in France. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or comments about conservation-restoration of objects. I would be happy to help in any way (outreach, education, prevention or treatment). I look forward to caring for your beloved objects and allowing you to preserve and admire them for many more years to come!
After lots of planning and packing, we are finally back in America. My French business is closed and we are in the process of selling the lab. I am looking for conservation work in the USA now and a new chapter has started... Here's to the present and the future!
The 24th and 25th of September is the first annual Engaging in the Preservation of Cultural Heritage conference at the University of Texas in Austin. Many great topics will be presented and discussed. You can register for free online and check out the schedule at the following link if you would like to know more: http://www.ischool.utexas.edu/~epoch/.
I am presenting a poster entitled "Conserving and documenting the lesser known Holy Child sculptures" which you can see during the poster session on Saturday the 25th from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the School of Information. For more information please visit their website.
After two years of renovation, my conservation lab is finished and ready for work. Heated, insured, clean and equipped, I have a nice, calm space to work on large and small sculptures. If you would like to come visit the lab, do not hesitate to contact me. For more information about this exhibit, click on the following link: http://www.culture.gouv.fr/champagne-ardenne/3documentation/nav2_baroque.html In this exhibit, you can see the two Holy Child sculptures I restored for the museum. |
